Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event in London, where it introduced several new devices and shared its plans for future technology. The launch focused on foldable smartphones, smartwatches, wearable devices, and upcoming XR products.

New Foldable Smartphones Unveiled
Foldable phones remained the biggest highlight of the event. Samsung introduced three new models: the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Each device brings updated hardware and design improvements.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is Samsung’s premium foldable smartphone for 2026. It features a thinner and lighter body, making it more comfortable to hold and carry. The redesigned hinge creates a smoother folding experience, while the flatter frame gives the phone a modern appearance.
Samsung has also reduced the visibility of the screen crease, helping provide a more seamless viewing experience. The phone includes a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is designed to deliver faster performance, improved efficiency, and smoother multitasking.
Galaxy Z Fold 8
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a wider design. The cover display measures around 5.4 inches, while the large 7.6-inch inner screen offers plenty of space for entertainment and productivity.
The 4:3 aspect ratio makes reading, watching videos, and running multiple apps at the same time more comfortable. The device includes a 4,800mAh battery and is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in selected markets. It also comes with a dual-camera system for everyday photography.
Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 continues Samsung’s popular flip-style foldable design. While the familiar form factor remains, Samsung has upgraded the internal hardware to deliver better speed and overall performance. Depending on the region, the phone may be powered by either a Snapdragon or Exynos chipset.
Samsung Introduces New Galaxy Watches
Samsung expanded its wearable lineup by launching the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 features a larger battery, with reports suggesting a capacity of around 800mAh. Both smartwatches receive updated processors for faster performance and improved battery efficiency. Faster charging and new AI-powered features are also included to enhance the overall user experience.
Preview of Galaxy XR Glasses
Samsung also shared more details about its upcoming Galaxy XR Glasses, which are being developed in partnership with Google.
The smart glasses are expected to include built-in cameras and microphones for hands-free interaction. Several intelligent features will be powered by Google’s Gemini AI platform.
Samsung has not yet announced pricing or a release date for the XR Glasses.
Open-Ear Wireless Earbuds
Another product preview at the event was Samsung’s new open-ear wireless earbuds. This design allows users to hear their surroundings while listening to music or taking calls, making them useful for outdoor activities such as walking or running.
Galaxy Ring 2 Still in Development
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Ring 2 is currently under development. The company expects to improve battery life and introduce additional health tracking features in the next version. However, the device was not officially launched during this event, and future announcements are expected at a later date.
