Samsung Galaxy A08 Comes With a 6,000mAh Battery
The Galaxy A08 gets a 6,000mAh battery, which is larger than the 5,000mAh unit found in the previous Galaxy A07 4G.
The additional capacity could be useful for people who regularly watch videos, browse the web or spend several hours on social media. However, Samsung has not provided an official battery-life estimate for typical usage.
The Malaysian announcement also does not specify the phone’s charging speed, so buyers will have to wait for more details on charging performance.
The Galaxy A08 also carries an IP64 rating. This provides protection against dust and water splashes under suitable conditions. It is not designed to be submerged in water, so the phone should not be treated as waterproof.
Six Years of Software and Security Support
One of the most notable features of the Galaxy A08 is its software support.
Samsung says the phone is eligible for up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. This gives the device a longer software-support period than many budget smartphones traditionally offer.

For everyday tasks such as messaging, calling, browsing, watching YouTube and using social media apps, the hardware should cover the basics. Gaming performance, however, is something that needs to be assessed through real-world testing rather than specifications alone.
6.7-Inch HD+ Display
The Galaxy A08 features a large 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels.
The screen size should provide plenty of space for watching videos, browsing websites and using apps. However, the HD+ resolution is a noticeable compromise. A Full HD+ panel would offer a sharper image, particularly on a display this large.
Samsung’s official Malaysian listing does not mention a refresh rate. Because of that, claims about a 120Hz display should not be treated as confirmed specifications unless Samsung provides further information.
The phone weighs 197 grams and has a thickness of 8mm. It is available in Dark Blue, Green and Silver colour options.
50MP Main Camera
On the back, the Galaxy A08 has a dual-camera setup.
The primary camera uses a 50MP sensor with autofocus. It is accompanied by a 2MP depth camera. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies and video calls.
